Restore Engine Power with Genuine Cylinder Heads

At Coastal Nissan, we understand that every component in your vehicle contributes to both your comfort and safety on the road. Cylinder heads form the upper seal of your engine's combustion chambers and house valves that control air intake and exhaust flow. When heads develop cracks or warping, engine efficiency drops and serious damage can follow. We stock genuine Nissan cylinder heads machined to factory specifications for reliable compression and performance.

How Cylinder Heads Seal and Control Combustion

Cylinder heads bolt to the engine block and create closed chambers where fuel ignites under pressure. Internal passages allow coolant to flow and regulate operating temperature. The Nissan NV200 and Nissan Xterra use cylinder head designs specific to their engine configurations and power requirements. Valves mounted in the head open and close at precise intervals to admit air and release exhaust. The head gasket seals between the head and block to maintain compression. These components coordinate with timing belts to ensure valves operate in perfect synchronization with pistons.

Why Cylinder Heads Crack and Warp

Overheating causes aluminum heads to expand unevenly and lose their flat mating surface. Thermal cycling creates stress cracks that allow coolant and compression to leak. Valve guides wear and allow oil to enter combustion chambers. Coolant passages corrode internally and develop leaks that mix fluids. Aftermarket heads frequently use softer alloys and looser tolerances that fail prematurely compared to genuine Nissan castings.

When Heads Require Replacement

Replace heads when compression tests show significant pressure loss between cylinders. White exhaust smoke indicates coolant burning from head cracks or gasket failure. Milky oil suggests coolant contamination from internal head damage. Persistent overheating despite cooling system repairs points to warped head surfaces that prevent proper sealing.

Leave the breakdown lane behind and cruise into the fast lane with Coastal Nissan's genuine products.
